KELAYAKAN INVESTASI PRODUKSI BENIH UNTUK PENENTUAN STRATEGI BISNIS PERBENIHAN PADI DI PROVINSI BANTEN (tesis)
Banten Province is one of the provinces that has the highest rice production in
Indonesia. The high production and the large area of agricultural land encourage a
high demand for rice seeds. On the other hand, rice seed production in Banten
Province fluctuates and does not meet the needs of farmers. The purpose of this
study is to analyze the feasibility of investing in rice seed businesses from market
and marketing aspects, legal aspects, technical aspects, social aspects, financial
aspects, and business strategy analysis. Banten Province. This research has been
carried out in Banten Province. The method used in this research is a descriptive
survey with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were rice seed
producers in Banten Province, totaling 112 producers. Samples were taken by
means of proportional simple random sampling using the Cochran formula for 21
producers. The data analysis used is a legal, market and marketing, technical,
social, financial, and SWOT strategy analysis. The results of the feasibility
assessment of the rice seed business obtained a payback period (PP) of 2.6 years,
an average rate of return (ARR) of 37.94%, a net present value (NPV) of Rp.
64,266,511, an internal rate of return (IRR) of 31.80%, and a profitability index
(PI) of 3.1. The value obtained from the IFAS (internal factor analysis summary) is
3.09, while the EFAS (external factor analysis summary) value is 2.73. Based on
the legal, market, marketing, technical, and social aspects, the rice seed business in
Banten Province is feasible to implement. From the financial aspect, as measured
by the value of PP, ARR, NPV, IRR, and PI, the rice seed business in Banten
Province is feasible. The alternative strategy chosen is one that uses internal
strengths to take advantage of external opportunities.
