This study aims to examine and determine the effect of liquidity on firm value with
profitability as an intervening variable in the real estate and property sub-sectors
listed on the Indonesian stock exchange for the 2015-2020 period. Liquidity proxies
include the current ratio, quick ratio and cash ratio. The proxy for company value
is price to book value. Meanwhile, profitability proxies include return on assets,
return on equity and net profit margin. The total sample is 39 companies. This study
uses Partial Least Square analysis with Smart PLS 3 software. The results show
that liquidity has a significant negative effect on firm value. Liquidity has a
significant negative effect on profitability. Profitability has a significant positive
effect on firm value. Meanwhile, profitability can mediate the effect of liquidity on
firm value.
